JUNIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Job Title: Junior Systems Administrator

Department: IT

Reports To: IT Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Travel: Up to 20%


SUMMARY

Responsible for installing, maintaining, monitoring, updating, and testing of computerized information systems. Provide IT support for non-technical employees and facilitating end-user training on new software applications and other technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Maintaining the various computer systems owned or operated by the company.
  • Providing end-user support, resolving technical issues, and providing technical assistance for all operating systems and applications.

  • Providing new employees with required hardware and appropriate access to the company’s computer systems.
  • Maintaining business software applications.
  • Researching, designing, implementing, configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting and evaluating existing and new operating systems and applications.
  • Directing third-party vendors who may be involved in diagnosing and correcting system related issues and assisting with solutions.
  • Supporting management with IT requests and potential new implementations.
  • Supporting Management with tracking of computer/printer devices for asset controls.
  • Ensuring end users have proper computer resources and the set up needed to be able to work efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required:
  • 2-3 years professional IT experience
Preferred:
  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, correspondence, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write correspondence, routine reports and substantiate via verbal or written mediums. Ability to speak effectively and present information one-on-one and before small groups of clients or employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read and interpret figures, graphs and plots. Ability to solve algebraic problems. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to manage, organize, analyze and decipher large amounts of data.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to solve practical problems via a logical, analytic approach. Ability to simplify complicated problems using assumptions. Ability to validate work using verification techniques.
